 Mandy and Silva in the studio Watch out for Bluebird!Bluebird head down to Brighton for a night of comedy on Friday, June 8, when they perform some of Mandy's wittier songs at Funny Girls, at the Caroline of Brunswick pub. On June 23 they're on the line-up at the Wolvercote Festival, and on June 30, at around 3 pm, they perform at Wittfest in the grounds of the Plough at Long Wittenham. A seasoned writer and performer, Mandy has spent most of her adult life, in both the UK and America, giving in to wanderlust and crafting songs, many of which tell a story - about the ups and downs of relationships, her own and other people's struggles and quests for ... well, whatever it is we think our life is about, and anything else that has set her imagination off on her unconventional journey to where she is now.
After spending a decade in Austin, Texas, followed by a number of years back in the UK, she made a return visit to the States in 2010, drawn to Nashville, Tennessee, where she met and paired up professionally with singer songwriter Terri Calderon, with whom she has written a number of songs (one of which, 'You Just Need One' is currently on the afternoon playlist at 450 Caffe Nero outlets around the UK). Mandy has since then been over to Nashville several times to write and perform, and is now living in the south of England. News'Distinctly Blue', Bluebird's 5-track EP, is now available from Mandy and Amanda. Here's a taster--the opening track, 'Do You Love Me?' |
